My goal is to figure out the tips and tricks of professional football players and also to give you a glimpse into their personal and professional lives. In this episode, I talk with former CFL player and current CFL coach Richie Hall. Richie has been in the CFL for a total of 32 years through playing and coaching. Through his playing career, he played with the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Through his coaching career, he has coached with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Edmonton Eskimos and is now coaching for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Richie has won three out of the four Grey Cups that the Riders have won and is the only person in Rider history to do so. Richie and I got into a lot of conversations that you have not heard before, he talks about his book and how he decided on the title and some of the stories he has in his book and he even talks about how being a football player at 5’6″ made him have to work harder and how that work ethic and his ability to make relationships and trust those people carried out into his everyday day life but without further ado, I hope you enjoy.

This interview is brought to you by Recruit Ready. Recruit Ready is a program in Winnipeg that takes high school students to the next level so they can be recruited at the college and university level. Winnipeg, I’m jealous! I want to play professionally and I truly believe that Recruit Ready could get me to the next level. If you are a kid with a dream similar to mine, definitely go check them out.
This interview is also brought to you by Kidsport, an organization that helps parents cover the costs of getting their children into organized sports. I’ve played numerous sports throughout my childhood, playing football ever since I was 6 years old and I just started playing basketball this year. In our neighbourhood there are no kids to play with and our school doesn’t have any school teams so organized sports is the only way for me to stay active, learn a sport and meet new friends. Give the gift of sport.
